Night Calver is sired by the breed leader Messmer Packer S008 and out of a Big Sky R9 daughter from the Della cow family going back to the Lancer F442T bull.  He is the product of blending several breed impact herd sires.  We purchased Night Calver in the spring of 2011 where he was the lead bull in Ludvigson's sale.  He is gentle and quiet and will end up as a moderate size bull.

Night Calver is already starting to make his mark in a big way.  In March of 2013 a Night Calver son topped the Ludvigson's sale at $75,000 going to Pitchfork T Ranch of Oregon and Lakeview Cattle Company of Idaho.

Below are some quotes from the Ludvigson 2013 Semen Catalog.  "Night Calver had one of the most balanced individual performances of any bull that we have ever produced."  It further states "Night Calver is siring low birth weight calving ease cattle that have incredible look with deep dark red coat color and structural correctness.  In our pens of herd bull prospects and replacement females the Night Calver calves are rising to the top and are easily found from a phenotypic standpoint.  This five star calving ease bull ranks in the top 12% for calving ease direct and the top 2% for birthweight while being quite competitive for growth, milk, reproduction and carcass."

Recently NightCalver's RA50K data was incorporated into his epds.  This genomic data further strengthened his already excellent epd profile by indicating more growth and even stronger carcass characteristics.  As of 7-6-13 Night Calver had 10 epds in the top 25%.  He is top 12% in calving ease direct, top 2% in birthweight, top 20% in weaning weight, top 11% in yearling weight, top 8% in maternal efficiency, top 3% in heifer pregnancy, top 6% in stayability, top 4% in Marbling, and top 1% in REA.  Based on his pedigree, progeny, and epd profile, we believe Night Calver will make an impact in the top Red Angus herds that have used him or are beginning to use him.  He is a calving ease bull with much, much more to offer.

Semen is available through Ludvigson's as they are marketing the bull.  If you desire to contact us we will help you make semen purchase arrangements.

Packer is a high accuracy Genex sire that is no longer on the market due to age and injury. He has been a stalwart in the Red Angus breed with more than 2200 progeny registered. He was #2 in progeny registered in the breed in 2012 after being #1 in 2011. Packer has been a very impactful sire in red Angus herds across the country. Both sons and daughters are in high demand and typically sell among the top animals in Red Angus sales. His progeny exhibit growth but normally maintain a moderate size at maturity. Semen on this popular sire is bound to become scarce as breeders continue to use up existing supplies.

Expectations was raised by Ludvigson's in Montana. He has been called an EPD monster. The good news is he has the progeny to back it up. Bulls and females out of this sire are in high demand. His marbling EPD is "off the charts." This is a must use bull as he is much more than just carcass. He will continue to be part of our program.

This is an excellent opportunity to obtain semen on a young, up and coming, herd sire. Tool time is a Beckton P707 son. The P707 sons and daughters have been among the hottest selling cattle in the Red Angus breed in the last couple years. In addition, Tool Time is out of a dam that is a full sister to HXC Jackhammer. He is a wide, deep, and dark red bull that is a go-getter in the pasture. This young bull is a great option on heifers as you get the calving ease without sacrificing growth. His first calves will be born in the fall of 2013.

84S is a great option on heifers and on cows. He was bred by Red Hill and purchased by Buffalo Creek as a yearling. In the Buffalo Creek dispersal 84S sold for $30,000 for pasture rights and a 25% semen interest. This is a proven, moderate, slick haired calving ease bull with a strong, balanced EPD profile. To date he has "flown under the radar" but his usage has recently gone up and you will understand why when you see the calves he produces.

This dynamic sire has been widely used. He has calving ease, elite growth, and great carcass EPDs all in one package. We own this bull with Robinette Farms, Lorenzen Ranches, and Double Eagle Ranch. He was the 2nd high seller at the Lorenzen's 2012 sale. His pedigree and performance are very impressive as are his 11 EPDs in the top 30%. His sire, Destination tied as the all time high selling bull at $180,000 in 2006. His dam is the LSF Sweetness donor cow and the dam of LSF Expectation. She is simply a power house cow.

We have ownership in this Australian bull through an interest in Paringa Livestock Genetics. ABS is marketing semen globally but Iron Ore semen will not be offered domestically by ABS until the spring of 2014. Iron Ore is a 100% Angus with no Red Angus lines in his pedigree. His lineage includes such Angus greats as New Design 036, Future Direction, Focus of ER, and Scotch Cap. His sire, maternal sire, and maternal grandsire are three of the most highly used and proven Angus bulls in Australia. The cow side of the pedigree features 6 consecutive generations of Donor Cows. Iron Ore's individual performance in a group of 177 contemporaries: 73 BW 9th; 1214#s for a 400 days ratio of 107th; 7th in Ribeye area at 16.2 SQ inches and 132% marbling ratio. Pfizer's 50K evaluation confirmed his EPDs including a top 35% for dry matter intake ( He eats less, even though he grows more).
