We purchased Genesis A31 as the high selling bull at the C-Bar February 27, 2014 Bull Sale. The catalog quote for the bull was "One of the most exciting young herd sire prospects of the season, Genesis offers breed-muscle and performance with a flawless phenotype. He already was named the Reserve Junior Bull Calf Champion at the National Red Angus show in Ft. Worth. Subsequently Genesis was Division Champion at the National Western Stock Show in early 2015. In October of 2015 Genesis was crowned Grand Champion bull in the Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE) National Red Angus Show.

On January 11, 2016 Genesis was named the Reserve Grand Champion bull at the National Western Stock Show. His feet, structural correctness, and phenotype were all very sound and he had a calm and quiet disposition.  His progeny are impressive with lots of growth and style.

We like to see strong cow families in our herd bulls. That is certainly the case with the dam and grand-dams of Genesis A31. And, he goes back on both sides of the pedigree to the famous Brown Abigrace cow that sold more that $2 million of progeny. We lost Genesis due to a severe leg injury in 2017.

We purchased full possession and a 25% semen interest in Brown Pacesetter Y7170 in October of 2016 at the Broseco Ranch Dispersal Sale. Other semen interests in Pacesetter are owned by RA Brown Ranch and Broseco Ranches of Texas and Cedar Hill Farm of West Virginia. We were interested in Pacesetter as we had weaned calves out of him a couple months earlier and could see the quality of his progeny. Y7170 was born in 2011 and is a proven sire. He is currently one of the few sires with strong Herd Builder and top strong carcass traits in the Red Angus breed. This sire has an outstanding EPD profile and a pedigree of Red Angus greats including Nebula P707, Revelation P7021, and Brown Abigrace L7730. He is now deceased so don't wait too long to get semen.

    MONTVUE B221L RACHILLE P144

We raised the Rhodes Titonka Z721 bull.  He was a standout from the time he was a young calf.  He has been at work in the Ludvigson Program in Montana. His sire is the very popular Buffalo Creek Right Kind. His dam was a moderate, docile cow with a good udder and feet.  Titonka has sired numerous high selling progeny and his progeny have been tested as being very strong in feed efficiency tests.  This is demonstrated by a Dry Matter Intake (DMI) EPD in the top percentiles. He is a moderate size bull that puts growth and added mass in his calves. And, his EPD profile is strong and balanced. He is a bull that has it all and will improve feed efficiency in his progeny.

    LSF DELLA G1372 P4078

Unfortunately we lost Night Calver in 2017. Night Calver was sired by the breed leader Messmer Packer S008 and out of a Big Sky R9 daughter from the Della cow family that is becoming one of the top cows in the breed.  We purchased Night Calver in the spring of 2011 where he was the lead bull in Ludvigson's sale. He had a good temperament and was a moderate sized bull.

In March of 2013 a Night Calver son topped the Ludvigson's sale at $75,000 going to Pitchfork T Ranch of Oregon and Lakeview Cattle Company of Idaho. Night Calver is a calving ease specialist without sacrificing growth and strong carcass characteristics. His sons and daughters are found in many top Red Angus herds in the country. We will continue to use him through AI. although our semen supply is short.

We purchased a 1/6 interest in Old Glory in the Fall of 2017. He is a full brother to the powerful, but short lived Leachman Pledge A282Z bull. Lee Leachman described the bull as follows:
"Leachman Old Glory A008D, a full sib to the breed leading Leachman Pledge, is one of the most powerful and unique bulls that we have ever encountered. Old Glory stands out among his peers in a way we have not witnessed wince Grand Canyon sold as a yearling in 1998! This massive, 1,900+ pound bull moves with power and authority like a Hancock bred quarter horse. He significantly improves on Pledge with impeccable hoof and foot structure." His first calves are due in the Fall of 2019.

We purchased a 10% interest in the Thomas Jefferson 55602 Angus bull in late 2017 and we will have his first Red Angus calves in the Fall of 2018. 55602 is 100% Angus but has a red gene so he is a Black-Red carrier. His genetics are proven in the Angus breed for very strong carcass and feed efficiency qualities. We are very excited to bring these out-cross genetics into our program. As Thomas Jefferson wrote to James Madison on January 30, 1787 "A little rebellion now and then is a good thing and is necessary in the political world as storms in the physical."

The Butkus 600 bull is the natural calf of our Adina 4039 Donor cow and the Bieber Spartacus A193 bull at Select Sires.  Spartacus has been used heavily in the Bieber And Jeffries Land and Cattle programs.  The Butkus 600 bull was a standout since he was born and continued to impress as he got older.  Unfortunatley we lost him way too young to a breeding injury. We have a number of daughters to carry on his genetics. Pictured at 19 months of age.

We are very excited about this young stud. Pictured at 18 months of age.

The Payton 625 bull is a son of our long-time herd bull Top Shelf Z10 and Brown Ms Mission Statement Z7617.  The Z6717 cow came to us in the R A Brown dispersal and is a very nice Mission Statement P27 cow going back to Destination 6215 and Lancer F442.  This young bull cleaned up some heifers in the spring of 2017.  He is a calm and classy young bull and we are excited to start getting his progeny.  If he makes females as good as his sire, he will be a an excellent herd sire. Pictured at 17 months of age.

The dam of 118A is an outstanding Packer daughter and the dam of the $27,000 Rhodes Austina 918B. 118A is a moderate bull with a calm disposition. He puts a lot of balance and feed efficiency in his offspring. He just does everything well and his daughters are awesome.

His HXC 100A dam is a Nebula P707 daughter, that is also the dam of the HXC Allegiance 5502C sire that is a very popular semen seller for ABS. To go along with an impressive pedigree, this young sire is Red and has a strong, and balanced set of EPDs, including top percentiles for Marbling, and Ribeye.     RHRA QUEEN JEWEL 526
We raised the P707 Nebula 452 bull and he has been a stud since he was born. His sire is the very popular Buckton Nebula P707 sire that is often seen in the pedigrees of top Red Angus cattle. On the dam side is the Queen Jewel 628 cow that is out of Make My Day and going back to the famous JRA James 904 cow. The genetics of 452 are outstanding and his progeny were very good. Unfortunately, we lost him in 2018 to a leg injury.
